Maritime Bread

It doesn’t take a geography wizard to know middle Tennessee isn’t near the sea, but there’s a story behind Nashville’s Maritime Bread. Owner and baker Kathleen Turchi spent her formative years in a North Carolina fishing village not far from where Blackbeard met his demise. Treebird loves a good origin story, and incorporated Kathleen’s into Martime Bread’s branding, including a veritable pirate’s booty of custom illustrations, a rebrand, and a web refresh. And the sword in the logo? Blackbeard’s, naturally.
