Website Policies
Project Timeliness, Assets, and Communication
Timeliness
It is the clientʼs responsibility to inform Treebird of any potential delays ahead of time. We will work with the client as much as possible to revise timelines, but we may not always be able to do so. Therefore, we require all of our clients to understand that without adhering to the project timeline, their project could be delayed and face other consequences.
Assets Responsibility:
Treebird cannot complete a website if the client does not provide content (the text and photos, videos, etc.) or required elements (pre-existing logo, brand guide, account login information, etc.). We will provide the client with a timeline, Dropbox link, and Action Tracker for content and will work with to ensure all client-provided content meets our guidelines.
We can assist in writing content, sourcing photos, graphic design elements, branding (including expansion or rebranding), or social media at a separate cost and will effect the timeline.
Asset Setup
Because it’s important for you to maintain ownership of your accounts, Treebird is not responsible for setting up your accounts.
The client is responsible for:
Procuring and setting up domains (URLS)
Website hosting with WordPress
Google Analytics (we will implement the code but the client is responsible for setting up Analytics and giving Treebird the required information)
Any third-party applications that need to be connected to the site (Hubspot, Mailchimp, Resy, etc.)
If you have questions or need help setting these up, we can help, but it may be subject to additional cost at your agreed-upon hourly rate.
Communication:
We promise to adhere to the agreed upon timeline and will give notice of when they can expect content or communication from us. We expect for the client to respond to any request in an appropriate time. If the client fails to respond to requests from Treebird within two weeks (unless the client informs us ahead of time), the project will be placed on hold, and the client will be billed for restart fee.
Treebird Availability:
Treebird is available within our business hours: Monday-Friday from 9 AM-5 PM EST. If your point of contact is out-of-office, we’ll make sure you have a contact to reach in case of an emergency. While we understand that websites are essential to business, we make no guarantee that your request can be completed immediately. Being a small company has allowed us to be nimble and give your project the individual attention that it deserves, but it also means that we built a team that specializes in different aspects of our clients’ needs.
Copyright
All content used in a commissioned website must be provided by the client unless the client has hired Treebird for content development and sourcing. The client must have ownership or written permission to use all content they provide. It is up to the client to ensure their content does not infringe on any trademark, service mark, or copyright laws. Treebird is not responsible for intellectual property infringements on behalf of clients.
Website Revisions
Before Project Completion
For WordPress websites, there are three opportunities for the client to give revisions: 1. Wireframes 2. During the building & edits phase 3. The last meeting before going live.
Wireframes: We will provide the client with wireframes. This is the time that we are working through design and deciding where text will be placed. We request that clients take this time to read through the text on the wireframes for copy edits and placement changes.
Building & Edits: We will be checking in during the building process, This is where we check that the design is working and the mobile site is looking just as good.
Last Meeting: Our last meeting will take place right before the site goes live. This is where we go through and quadruple-check links, mobile, contact forms, etc. We will also talk through all of the areas the client will need information on how to edit.
After Project Completion
Unless discussed beforehand, we will consider the project complete once the site goes live. After that, we will provide the client with a How-To Doc that will explain how to edit the parts of the site that we talked about in our last meeting. If the client has more edits once the site is live, the client will be billed at the agreed-upon hourly rate. We kindly ask that you send those revisions to our project manager. Maintenance and Tech Support
Treebird Branding is responsible for the design of the website only. We are happy to help connect your site to things like Google Analytics, but the client must inform the Treebird team ahead of the website launch. Any additional setup (IE setting up Google Business and Google Analytics) will be done at an hourly rate. After a website is complete, additional tech support and maintenance may be done at the agreed upon hourly rate.
SEO, Responsive design, and ada compliance
SEO
Every client would like their site to be at the top of the search engines, but Treebird is not an SEO company. While we practice SEO best practices for our clients, we do not guarantee full Search Engine Optimization. We are happy to help you set up and work on your Google Analytics and indexing at the hourly rate determined in your contract.
ADA Compliance
It is very important to the Treebird team that websites are designed with ADA Compliance in mind. We may suggest using different colors, fonts, text sizes, etc. to help with this. While we try our best and check with our known resources, compliance guidelines do change and we cannot guarantee compliance.
Responsive/Mobile Design
We understand Google’s Mobile First indexing and will work to make sure the site looks good and is functioning on mobile devices. However, not every functionality and design is fully supported on every mobile device and therefore adjustments to the design may be made.
