Three Ways to Increase Engagement
There has been a lot of buzz lately regarding the low engagement social media users have been seeing. Unfortunately, because the algorithms on these apps are ever-changing, this has become a pretty universal experience. Instagram in particular has made it difficult for its users to break through their algorithms. While this can definitely be frustrating, it’s also an opportunity to get creative. Here are a few types of content that have become increasingly popular for raising engagement.
Short-form Video
Short-form videos are widely expected to be the future of content. Instagram has really focused on prioritizing them as a way of promoting Reels, and of course, TikTok has proven how much people gravitate towards videos. In general, social media users are more likely to engage with video content because it holds their attention for longer, which leads to them sharing, liking, or commenting on it. Someone engaging with your content means they are more likely to see it again on their feed.
Humanized Content
This type of content includes pictures and videos of the people involved in your brand from your team to your customers. Statistically, this type of content receives more engagement than other posts. People gravitate towards brands that they feel a connection or pull to, and this is a great way to create that.
Calls to Action
Whether it’s an Instagram story with a link button or a caption with more specific instructions, it’s important to encourage and remind users to engage with your content! On Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter calls to action can be a little more overt, while TikTok users typically respond better to more subtle techniques.
